Power amplifiers are designed to amplify the power of an audio signal.
Power amplifiers can be used for a variety of purposes such as powering stereo speakers, headphones, and car speakers. This device is typically built in to the speaker but some models may be separate. These amplifiers have a wide range of power output depending on what you’re using them for.

Power amplifiers are devices that increase the power of a signal for driving loudspeakers to levels usually greater than 1 W. They are commonly used with PA systems, professional sound reinforcement systems, and public address systems. Power amplifiers can be broadly classified into two categories according to their output power: low-power amplification (typically below 100 watts) and high-power amplification (100 watts or more).

The power amplifier is fundamental to the success of any audio system. It’s sole purpose is to increase the power level of low-level signals from a source device, such as a computer or CD player, before they are piped into speakers. The change in voltage will correlate to an increase in sound pressure, which is measured in decibels, making the information louder and clearer.
